Driver's heated seat gone - repair $ question

I'm guessing the coils are shot, or is there another common problem?

Will I have to go to a stealership to have them repaired. Has anyone done this? I'm wondering what the repair cost would be for the one side. Apparently the passenger seat heats up fast, but absolutely nothing from the driver's seat.

You can buy aftermarket heated seat inserts. then put them in youeslef. as far as th stock ones i'd say you probably have to go to a stealership

check to see if power is coming to, and going through the switch. You'll need a multimeter for this. You can do a continuity test on the heat pads themselves to make sure the heat element hasn't failed.

p.s. any info you find out about the heat pads I'd love to hear. I've recently bought heated seat switches, bezels, and a relay. I need to purchase pads, but I am not sure if I want to go aftermarket or OEM.

Re: Driver's heated seat gone - repair $ question

All canadian 5th gen ludes and vtec 4th gens had heated seats and mirrors. I don't even drive mine in the winter and absolutly love them, there just amazing for the end of winter when car comes out and end of summer - november when its a bit cold around here. Gives your back/but muscles a nice relaxing feeling lol, loosens everything right up. (after being in pysio with a heatpad on my shoulder everyday for 6 months its quite nice).

I use to think heated mirrors were a crock as well, but they work amazing also. Completly clears the mirrors of any condesation/fog/frost in a cpl minutes.

Re: Driver's heated seat gone - repair $ question

I would look locally. I found a passenger heated seat from a Canadian SE for 120 bucks in mint condition.

Depends on where you're located :-X

Re: Driver's heated seat gone - repair $ question

Yeah, the heated seats in my SH take about 15 min to get going which is useless since it takes me 5 min to drive to school.
