Dirty Mechanic Or Bad Radiator?

Greetings fellow luders. In another attempt to save money I think I've made my problem worse! I recently had to replace my radiator due to me breaking it while I was trying to replace my upper hose, lol. I'm unemployed at the moment so I can't afford Mishimoto or Koyo, which where my two top choices. So I did the next best thing and went to O'rielys to buy a cheap rad just to carry me until I land back on my feet. The one that was suggested to me is called Murray Radiator part #432406. I got it installed but the Mechanic said that it was for an automatic car and he didn't know how long it would carry me.

I drove the car home and the next morning I start the car and I couldn't shift into any gears! So I turned the car off and it lets me shift through all gears including reverse. But when I turn it on it just gets stuck! So I let the car warm up for 10 minutes and walla I can shift but it's not easy. After another 5 to 10 minutes of driving it shifts perfect again.

So, did I really get the wrong radiator or did the mechanic mess up my ride? Sorry for the lengthy post and thanks for the help.

Re: Dirty Mechanic Or Bad Radiator?

Most oem radiators come equipped for both. Your radiator has absolutely nothing to do with your shifting. Sounds fishy.

Re: Dirty Mechanic Or Bad Radiator?

Daamn bro! So the radiator I bought is ok for the lude? I've never had any problems shifting since I bought the car a couple years back. And now all of the sudden after this mechanic touches my ride it messes up on me. Any suggestions?

Does your clutch feel okay? The radiator is fine.

Re: Dirty Mechanic Or Bad Radiator?

Yea man like Racon said your rad has Nothing to do with your shifting. If it were an auto car then yea, maybe one of the lines for the trans cooler got messed up. But other than that no.

When's the last time you checked your transmission fluid?

Sup Bro's! I just got back from a spirited run thru the hills around my house. And Everything works cool. It was shifting really smooth. And no issues on the start up. I hope that by joining this site the Honda god's have shined there light on me. And I haven't checked my trans-fluid. I'll take a peek in the mourning. Thanks ya'll.

Re: Dirty Mechanic Or Bad Radiator?

So you didn't need to fix anything? It just started working again?
