Intake Question

I was changing my air filter and noticed a large rip about halfway down the intake. I removed it and taped it up nicely, for a temporary solution.

My question is, are the OEM intakes still available? And if so, should I consider an after market over the OEM?

Re: Intake Question

they are still available, but if you are planning on stay with a mostly stock engine or dont have plans for a big build I'd say go with the S Type intake. Its a bit better than the base intake, and the stock air box is already pretty good so SRI wont help much cause you'll just draw hot air.

Re: Intake Question

If you have a couple hundred to throw down then hell yeah get the Type S intake but if you don't really care you can just get an ebay intake for like $60 and youre gonna get about the same results

Re: Intake Question

Just get the aftermarket intake if you want another one. Way cheaper and cleaner looking. You can eliminate all that extra plastic (and gain 10-15 hp lmao) =P

Re: Intake Question

those guys in lab coats got the oem right. unless you wanna invest in aem, k&n etc (couple hundred $) stock is the way to go. if you want power gain that is. the other $60 type look cool but offer no actual gains contrary to popular belief.
majestic honda comes to mind for oem at a discount.. you can buy the whole kit or just stuff you need.

Re: Intake Question

The OEM has so much unnecessary garbage on it though, like vacuum lines and diaphragms. It's just to reduces intake sucking noise and keep it quieter
