2000 prelude sh h22a4 to h22a type s swap please help

my block on my h22a4 went bad so i decided to get a whole new engine and tranny with low miles and part out the old one. well the new h22a is in the car now. i took out the old ecu and hooked up the new one. i hooked up everything else like all the hoses and all the plugs. one thing i noticed that was different between the new h22a and my old h22a4 was that the h22a has a internal coil distributor. so i did some research on this and i found this website. Honda Prelude H22 USDM to JDM Distributor wiring. from what i understood i had to switch over the new wire harness with my old wire harness and use my old one right? well thats what i did and i followed all the instructions and did all the wiring changes step by step. but i still cant get the car to start and i cant figure out what it is. the belts start to turn slowly but car wont start over. anyone whose done this swap before can you please help me out here

You made so many threads, lol. You dont need to re-wire ANYTHING. Its a straight drop in if your using the JDM ECU! you might have to advance the timing to 15*(on mine it was 15-16* to run perfect) but other than that, it should fire right up. I just did mine... my injector clip for cylinder #1 was unclipped a little so make sure EVERYTHING... Clips, grounds, etc... is on tight. I first thought you had to re-wire stuff but you don't. the JDM engine harness clips right into the usdm interior harness.

THat wiring is if you go with the USDM Ecu and USDM engine harness, which you aren't... atleast thats what i think.

the car won't start b/c the crank sensor is not connected....

the easy way to do this was to while both engines where out was to swap the h22a4 oil pump over the the type s h22 b/c that's where the crank sensor is. on the type S it's in the dizzy and the wires on the dizzy does not match the wires for the crank sensor plug on your harness.

you can connect the crank sensor to the dizzy but I haven't done that in over 7 years (I honestly don't remember what color goes with what) so I can't help and not too many people have done it that way. Search for threads started by T.E.L. maybe I listed what wires I connect to what in the dizzy...

Dont rewire there is a prebuilt harness out there hit me up and ill let you know where it is at im using the internal coil dizzy runs great and vtec is way strong on this engine

If your using the usdm engine harness, and the jdm distributor, I have the the rywire conversion harness, that will allow you to connect the crank sensor inside the jdm distributor to the usdm crank sensors in the oil pump plug harness. pm me if your interested.

If you run the usdm harness with the crank sensor jumped to the jdm distributor, will this work if your keeping the car obd2?
