Time For New Headlights

Well it's time to buy some new headlights and I've never changed headlights before so I'm gonna post a few links to stuff I found on eBay and see what you guys think. Also if you know of any good websites, link me in.

I'm looking for the simplest install, just plug in and go.

Here's some stuff I found:

#1 1997-2001 HONDA PRELUDE BLACK PROJECTOR LED HEADLIGHTS | eBay

#2 97-01 Honda Prelude Dual Twin Halo Ring Projector Black Headlights LH RH Lamps | eBay

#3 DUAL HALO 97-02 HONDA PRELUDE PROJECTOR HEADLIGHTS LIGHTS LAMPS LEFT+RIGHT | eBay

Are any of these good? My lude is white so I don't know if I should get chrome or black.

Re: Time For New Headlights

Imo save your time and buy these. If you want more you can do a retrofit aswell. User prelude1897 does them around here. You'll have half the light output and cutoff wish thoes ebay projectors, the halo ring ones are even worst. My gf's winter beater civic got some spec-d projectors and half the ring dosent light on one and is barley glowing on the other, light output straight up sucks.

I second this. I bought those exact housings then bought some 6000k 55W HIDs from DDM Tuning fits perfect with great output. I have some crappy phone pics of the output and look, i can put them up now if you'd like. I have an EBP 01

Re: Time For New Headlights

So I should not buy eBay lights? They seem to be priced okay, I mean most of the time you get what you pay for on eBay so I don't know...

Link me to better websites?

Do they come with bulbs when you buy them?

Re: Time For New Headlights

You won't need bulbs, there oem replacements basically except nicer. Stock bulbs and everything else hooks right up. No wiring pains and what not, I'd for sure get a Retro done to them for even more baller status, plus x10 light output ( and of course so you don't blind people ).
The ones I linked are the ones that were put in my car 1 month ago after a idiot backed up into me in a tim hortons drive through. I asked the body shop that was doing it if they could get the depo's for me instead of oem and thoes are the exact ones they ordered.

Re: Time For New Headlights

Don't buy eBay crap. Don't buy eBay crap. I used to have the first set in my car, and I liked how they looked for a while, but the quality was really bad. Even though I just had a bad experience, it's not that uncommon to have a bad experience with eBay sellers. Save up and retrofit your old headlights. If they are all clouded up, Im pretty sure Meguire's headlight restore is pretty legit.

Retrofits will be your best choice. me along with a couple of other people build them. pricing depends on what type of projectors you want to be used cause some are better than others

Re: Time For New Headlights

Not trying to jack your thread but I have a kind of stupid question and I'm hoping someone can give me a not so stupid answer haha.

For anyone who HAS used HIDs in ebay projectors, were they better or worse than OEM reflector housings without HIDs? I don't wanna be the ass with HIDs in reflectors, but I don't wanna buy HIDs and ebay projectors and waste money. I don't have the money for retrofitting regardless, these are the only two options I've seen imo. Or would fog lights make a difference?

brian does awesome work for the retros. my only suggestion would be to buy a brand new of depo black lights and get those retrofitted this way if you ever plan on selling the car then you could out on the OEM and sell the retros

Then what's my best option, I'm not willing to pay for retrofitting and I'm not confident enough to do it myself lol.

then you're stuck with halogen lights. we're not going to recommend cheap projectors, or hid's in halogen housings.

what's so damn hard to understand here?

Buy what you want. Put whatever lights you want into them. Its your car. You know the pros and cons of all your options so just pick one and call it done.

Re: Time For New Headlights

I've got #2 on your list and I love the way they look. I put HIDs as soon as I got them and they work fine, decent cut-off. The only thing I don't like is that you can't really adjust the beam. You have to adjust the entire headlight by how you mount it in the 3 bolts. Install is straight forward plug-and-play though. It's your car, if you like it do it, to each his own. Not everyone has like $300+ to do a retro-fit on top of the cost of the headlights. I'd rather spend my money elsewhere.

Here's what mine look like:
