Quarter window molding

So I see many of you re condition or replace molding under windows, but no one has mentioned the molding around the quarter windows. I just bought my car recently, and the molding looks terrible from an otherwise flawless exterior. It looks pitted from years in the weather, or kinda moldy. Im considering using a scotch pad and see if it comes off, or it may need further attention. Should I sand and re paint? If anyone has done this please let me know, thanks

Re: Quarter window molding

Yes, I have done it check my progression thread. I taped it off and sanded it down. This is the best way, turned out great and was free. It takes a while to sand, but once you get the exterior of the molding off it leaves a nice smooth plastic.

Re: Quarter window molding

Can't replace the molding either. It's permanently affixed to the window.

Re: Quarter window molding

the window itself with the molding on honda parts sites run about 250ish, but search around on here, you will find some threads on the restoration, i know ive seen some and spoke in one because i was looking into it myself.

Re: Quarter window molding

You can tape it off like boogie did in his progress thread
and then use urethane to fill in the gap if its like chipped at the bottom ofthe molding
then bring a razor blade over it to clean it up.
