cylinder sensor?

So lately I've been getting a cel. Checked it and its cylinder sensor? Icteied Googling and found this: bad distributor. My distributor was replaced 2 years ago. So I checked the cap and rotor cap looked fine rotor looked kinda burnt. Posted the problem else where and got 2 answers same one as bad cap and rotor and some sensor by the crank pulley going bad. Eye balling it I can't see anything down there sensor wise and I can't seem to find a good source to download the helms manual so I'm hopeless to find it. I'm gonna hopefully change the rotor this weekend but I feel like that isn't the problem. Has anyone had this cel and fixed it? Or anyone know how to fix it? Thanks.

Re: cylinder sensor?

Also the cel comes up in a pattern. Reset it when I get home drive the car all day the next day just fine then the next morning it comes back up. Paying closer attention I notice the car misfires then the cel pops up right after. Car runs just fine with the cel up starts up fine and everything?

Re: cylinder sensor?

Cylinder position sensor? Or Crank Position Sensor?

OBD1, both of them are in the dizzy.

OBD2, the CRANK sensor and TDC sensor are on the oil pump, behind the timing covers and crank pulley, which is why you can't see it. While the Cylinder position sensor is still in the dizzy.

Re: cylinder sensor?

I used this to pull the code everytime it came up Another DIY ATTS, ABS, & CEL (Check Engine Light) DTC - Honda Prelude Forum - Prelude Online.com
CEL flashed 9 times which is:
9 CYP: Cylinder Sensor - P1381 (intermittent interruption), P1382 (no signal)
I haven't gotten anything about my crank or TDC sensor just the cylinder sensor. How do I fix it since it's inside the dizzy? It's not old at all :(

Re: cylinder sensor?

Go to a parts store and have them run the code to find the exact one....if it is the one by the crank then fix it before your stuck on the road

Re: cylinder sensor?

Yeah Im gonna take it soon to get pulled. Online people who have the "No signal" code says there cars run like crap or can't start while mine runs just fine and starts just fine?

Re: cylinder sensor?

Though I don't think it's the one in the crank I would be getting the code for crank sensor not cylinder sensor.

Re: cylinder sensor?

When my crank sensor went bad i had a ton of random codes. cylinder sensor, crank sensor, tdc sensor, knock sensor, map sensor, intake air temp. plus misfire codes.

Re: cylinder sensor?

Bump.
I've let the code stay on without resetting the ECU to see if anything get's worse or if more codes come up and nothing. Car works the same and the same CEL is there.
