1997 Oem Spec Suspension Question.

5th gen OEM Spec Suspension Question
Hello my fellow new friends. This is my first ever post.

I hope it's in the right place.
I just recently revieved 2 front Showa Shocks for my 1997 Lude.
I wanted to ask you guys if I had to replace both SPRING AND STRUT or will my Lude be fine just replacing the Shock. Without replacing with new spring.

1997 Honda Prelude Base model with 150,000 miles
any help with this question would greatly be appreciated. Thanks for taking your time to read this .

As long as your springs aren't cracked, it should be fine to replace.

All you need to do is swap the shocks as long as your stock springs aren't cracked or broken. don't buy nothing.

Thanks a lot for your reply. I thought I had to replace both.Nothings wrong with my springs , the car doesn't sag, nor are the springs broken. My car squats, during acceleration, and is way to soft on pot holes, and cornering. SO that's why I ordered OEM Shocks. since my suspension is stock. Thanks for the help.

Re: 1997 Oem Spec Suspension Question.

It's a common practice to change shocks and springs at same time but if your springs are good no need too. If you find out you do need to it's just double the hassle but if your doing it yourself then no biggy

Re: 1997 Oem Spec Suspension Question.

Yeah my car is 16 years old. It has Stock springs. I had already replaced the shock before with Kyb- GR2 and they were worth crap. So I decided to go back with OEM Shock but i'm still indecisive too replace both shock and spring I just want my front end to fell like a normal lude nice and stiff and not all mushy.
