CV Axle Question

Hey guys i have a question about how far the drivers side cv shaft goes in when it hooks to the transmission. Is mine all the way in?.. iv never done a cv replacement up until today.. so im no expert. Im putting up a picture so you can see just how far out it is(or in). And btw i have took it off and put it on a few times to see if it would go on any farther, nothing. Thanks for any help

Re: CV Axle Question

Looks like it needs to go in another inch, usually that wide part is like a 1/4" from the housing. how are you installing it? i have a helper hold the axle making sure ts straight and lined up, i have the axle nut reversed and even with the end so the surface area is larger, then i put a block of wood against the axle nut end and hit with a large hammer a few times.
