Questions on wrapping rear deck.

So since my brake light is vibrating like hell and the clips are broken on it Im just gonna delete it since I have a spoiler. Im going to wrap it but couldn't find a DIY or any answers to a few questions I have.

What kind of cloth matches almost perfect to the kind we have now? Where to be bought and how much did you spend.

When wrapping it did you cut the cloth perfect to the deck or did you wrap it under and glue it then?

Did you remove the pre existing cloth on the deck before wrapping it? Or did you leave it there?

Thanks!

Re: Questions on wrapping rear deck.

I just got plain black fabric from jo-anns fabrics. Wrapped it beneath the deck and hot glued it in place - that way if I ever want to remove it, i'm not ruining the deck by gluing it on top.

The rear deck cloth doesn't match the interior cloth as is. So get anything you feel would look good.

Total cost was less than $10

This is the only picture I have on this computer.....

Alright thanks! It looks really good. Did you not cut any of the holes out speakers, back seat key release and restraint brackets? Also how did you go about wrapping the edges did you cut it?

Re: Questions on wrapping rear deck.

A thin piece of fabric won't noticeably effect the sound coming from those speakers. Just guessing here, but since he removed his trunk carpet and spare tire, he mightve removed his back seat too. So, he doesn't need access to the back seat release lock.

Looks great. The backseat is close to useless anyways. Weight reduction ftw.

No, I didn't cut out holes for the 3rd brake light, baby seat restraint brackets, speaker covers, or seat lock release.

I just cut it a few inches larger than the overall edge and hot glued it to the backside after wrapping it around.

^^ yeah, pretty much.

I don't have rear seatbelts, or the top/bottom of the rear seat. It's pretty useless to begin with, but with my Corbeau seats, it's just outright impossible to fit anyone back there

The fabric is indeed very thin, does not make a difference for the sound quality - BUT - having no back seat does decrease the sound deadening and makes the road noise much louder. So I don't really use any audio things...

Re: Questions on wrapping rear deck.

You also have a trunk release..plus it looks so much cleaner his way.
