any ideas why im having this problem?

sometime when driving if i come to a stop the idle rpm would go way down to like 500 and the car would shut off. if the rpms go down and i feather the gas a little it goes back to normal but sometimes doesnt. any input is appreciated thank you.

Pressure loss? You might have a bad seal.

Could be a bad alternator or a dying fuel pump.

It could be a lot of things so I'm not sure, but you should probably ask a mechanic and research Prelude Idle issues because it seems to be common.

Make sure the car is at normal operating temperatures then adjust the screw until it is where you want the idle to be. Then reset the ECU by pulling the clock/radio fuse under the hood for a few min

Re: any ideas why im having this problem?

It says to not turn the screw more than a half turn then drive for 20 mins and pull the fuse and try the idle again.

BEFORE you mess with your idle adjusting screw, check your IAC valve. Adjusting the idle screw only masks the issue, it does not correct it.

Re: any ideas why im having this problem?

You could also adjust the throttle plate screw where your throttle cable connects to. It could of backed off a hair and could be closing the butterfly valve too much.
