Good luck trying to accomplish this with no welding. Getting it attached to the trunk lid hinge won't be a problem, but getting it to the chassis will.

My hood shocks are bolted up.... didn't drill a thing. Just get a kit like sokie tech or whatever they are... but remember they don't work on cf hoods.

hood struts also cause a slight "bowing" on the sides of the hood - unless you trim part of the hood skeleton

the TEIN ones require drilling for shocks to mount on the fenders...

You know, McMaster Carr has a plethora of gas springs in nearly any length and load you can imagine. They also have every type of bracket and fitting you need to make it work... And the struts are only like $15 each.
