securing the spare

Hey guys, recently bought a 98SH. I noticed that there is nothing holding the spare down. There is a rod, which goes through a large washer type piece on the spare, but there is no wing nut or similar part to hold the wheel from bouncing around. I also noticed there are no threads on the rod, what gives? BTW, already tried the search, that answered most of my other questions on this nightmare of a car so far...lol

Re: securing the spare

there's supposed to be a threaded bolt with that plate and a nut. Here you go;

Part Detail

^^ you can take the part numbers to your local honda dealer and purchase them

the bolt is 74654-SE0-A00 and the plate is 74665-SM4-A00
