Oil leaking onto exhaust :(

Hi all.
I have a 1998 Prelude base model and while driving today noticed an oil burning smell and a little smoke from rear of engine. Anyways, I get home an put it up in the air and notice a tiny bit of oil seeping from the part that the oil filter screws onto. It is the part that is in tween the oil filter and the block. The oil is seeping out between that part and the block, then dripping down onto some sensor, then dripping down onto the exhaust. Is this a common leak? Also do you know what part I am talking about where the leak is coming from? I'm hoping it's some kind of O ring and an easy fix. I am pretty mechanically inclined. Thanks for any advice

yes i have had this problem twice so i'd say it's somewhat common. but yea all it is most likely is an oil filter gasket... pop out old pop in new. be sure to only tighten the oil filter to hand tight, very hand tight, but hand tight none the less. Hope this helps

Oil cooler o-ring. Very common leak, very cheap and easy fix. Please search.
