Are my headers stock?

Can't tell, took off the cover because it looked like it was tampered with by the previous owner. All the bolts were different so I decided to take a look.

Re: Are my headers stock?

Not completely. I would refinish them if you're keeping it off.

Re: Are my headers stock?

I heard leaving the cover off can f up your paint on your hood but I see lots of people without them. I painted my heat shield black and love it.

Re: Are my headers stock?

If thats the case, I'll probs put it back on. I know people don't have it on their aftermarket headers, does it have the same affect?

Re: Are my headers stock?

It wont mess up the hood. Aftermarket headers companies make theirs closer to the hood with no shield and have no problems. I would just paint the header and cover with a high temp paint to keep the rust from becoming a problem.

I heard that also and sounds valid, but my turbo manifold gets hot to the touch with being started for 4 seconds (not exagetatting) and literally burned me after those 4 seconds, any ways, turbo manifolds and turbos get honestly stupid hot to temperatures beyond a regular na exhaust. any ways i was stuck in traffic for about an hour or two in 112* weather (car trying to over heat on @ bumper to bumper traffic) my cars paint is about a year old and no doubt my hood was hot with the sun baking on it and the turbo baking underneath. my hood was perfectly fine and still is to this date and made it through some of the hottest summer days.

either way if i were to get a regular exhuast header i would deffinitly get it ceramic coated ti help reduce under hood temp!
