Custom 3 inch exhaust estimate.

How much did you guys pay to get a 3in. custom exhaust done on your car? I'm talking about piping and labor. Thanks in advance!

Re: Custom 3 inch exhaust estimate.

I paid about 300 for my 2.5, but the guy said 3" would only be 10-20 bucks more

Here's a few clips: kteller prelude - YouTube

I think the KTeller kit would be the way to go, lots people pair it up with a vibrant resonator and muffler

Re: Custom 3 inch exhaust estimate.

It just depends on the quality pipe. I paid $300 for my stainless Steele piping install and muffler. No cat lol yeah I scumbaged it

Re: Custom 3 inch exhaust estimate.

Depends on your setup. I got my pipe from SMSP, resonator from Vibrant, and used a Greddy muffler. Welding the resonator and muffler can vary in cost from shop to shop.

In the end, expect it to be less than most after market exhausts.... so under $500

Does it really matter what brand I get? I'm looking at performance over sound.

Is your resonator the regular one or ultra quiet?

its just piping man

and the muffler and resonator makes the sound, not the pipe

some people say that buying one that has already been bent is better, is this true?

Regular.

From left to right: SMSP 3" exhaust w/ vibrant 18" long 4" center OD 3" inlet/outlet resonator, Greddy Evo2, Stock

It's much harder to make a 3" sound good vs make a 2.5" sound good. The pipe size does make a difference in sound.

pre-bent is the way to go. Kteller and SMSP sell pre bent kits. They are slip joint exhausts - but you can have them welded, use flanges/welded, or couplings/u bolts to hold it together. I highly recommend flanges and welding so it can come apart in sections just like a stock exhaust.

Re: Custom 3 inch exhaust estimate.

Mandrel-bent is the way to go over crush bends.
