Maintence help!

Sooooo im going to do the whole timing belt job soon...


I got the timing belt, water pump and i heard i need the balancer belt? Whats the full name of it and whats it for? Is it balancer shaft belt? For like the alternator or something? If anyone could help me out here, would be helpful :P

Balancer shaft belt, yes. Or you could get a balance shaft removal kit and get a few more ponies. The info is out there, find it! hint: kaizen speed

If you want to keep everything OEM, just get a balancer shaft belt and change that while you're in there. You also have the option of removing the balance shafts completely and gaining a couple horses in the process. Kaizen Speed makes the balance shaft removal kit if you're interested, it costs around $120 I believe.

of course if you do that then your motor will be just a little bit more shaky. but some like it that way. more engine feel.

All new belts, all new seals, all new gaskets, all new everything. It's better safe than sorry down the line.
