Replacement Engine Cranks - No Start

A while back when I initially purchased my 'lude I made a thread regarding the troubleshooting procedures for the engine in the car at the time.

At this point, I've pulled the old engine and installed another (and it came with a distributor!). Approx. 60k miles. All went smoothly until the time came to start it. It turns over with ease, and gives me the occasional 'stumble' (?) like it wants to start, but then just continues to turn.

Thus far, I've eliminated the plugs, wires (replaced & confirmed spark), fuel pump (confirmed flow @ rail), injectors, fuel rail and associated wiring (checked voltage & flow into cyl's), ignition coil (slaved in the original coil), timing and compression (performed cold compression test, all cyls @145psi with no notable leakdown).

In addition to the aforementioned items, I've gone as far as trying to crank it with starting fluid to no avail. As far as fuel quality is concerned (current is ~4yo), it's not a prime suspect to me; I've started a car with fuel 5+years old.

After extensive googling, I've noticed a trend from the 'no start prelude' threads: Immobilizer system (chk'd good, car cranks with fuel/spark) Ignition coil (chk'd good) and the one that concerns me the most, Distributor and/or the circuit inside it. Is there any way to put a meter to the internals of that thing to test serviceability?

Needless to say, I'm at somewhat of a loss of direction. If anyone's got any recommendations as to what I can try, inspect or troubleshoot, please chime in!

EDIT: Not sure it matters, but figured I'd mention it. The fuel quantity indicator is inop, stuck at ~1/8th tank.
