Nitrous or Turbo?

I'm wondering what I should do with my SH. If I were to get nitrous I would use a low shot and only use it every other week. But turbo is always there. I just don't want to ruin my engine.

Re: Nitrous or Turbo?

If you don't wanna ruin your motor, don't do either of them. You can easily blow your shiit up with both.

Re: Nitrous or Turbo?

Just get 7 turbos. That way 3 of your cylinders have 2 each, but the last one will only have 1 shoving compressed air into it's bowels. That's much safer than say, 8 turbos.

Re: Nitrous or Turbo?

I'd say if you haven't done any other mods do some simpler stuff to your lude and see how that suits you... Reducing unsprung weight will improve your car on many fronts... acceleration being one of them.

A proper turbo setup requires that the whole engine be built around it (as others before have pointed out). A complete "store bought" turbo kit will give you maybe 7lbs of boost and will still be well north of a grand. Spend that same amount on some light wheels and a nice coilover setup (perhaps, depending on your wheel selection) and you'll be in business. I've done very little to my base 'lude... but with each addition I find it just gets better and better. I just dont see the point in overwhelming a front wheel drive car with an excess of power. Nitrous or turbo: Neither for me... Thanks.

However the properly built turbo H22's are still something to be admired. There's just only one way to go about it... And that's all the way!

Re: Nitrous or Turbo?

Spray. Cheap and cheerful.

Spray kills.

Boost. Expensive, a hassle, unreliable, but MUCH more cheerful when you get it right.

Boost kills.

Pick one.
