Factory Alarm

Hey Guys, i've been looking around and cant seem to find an answer.

So my alarm has been going off randomly and im not sure what it is. Maybe faulty wiring? The glass breakage microphone is adjusted too high?

But the LED blinks twice per second and can't figure what it means.
Does anyone else knows? Besides the fact that the alarm went off -.- Like is it a certain door? Or anything like that.

Thanks

Re: Factory Alarm

The car didn't come with a manual regarding the alarm? Idk if Honda made one but you can try finding one to see if it's on a certain setting. I've never dealt with the factory alarm that came with our Preludes. Did it randomly start doing it one day? Or did you buy the car like that.

Re: Factory Alarm

The previous owner didnt have it, so yeah.. I tried looking but they're really hard to find. I might not be looking for the right thing though. I found out my car had the factory alarm, and turned it on and bought a key fob to use it . Everything was fine, but just a couple nights ago, i had to park my car outside (instead of in the garage). And it'll randomly go off at times. It doesn't go off in my garage though, so i was trying to see if someone if like messing with me, but i dont know.

Re: Factory Alarm

Sounds like it's on a super sensitive settings like a loud exhaust coming by or something letting it off. Have you tried the shop manuals?

Re: Factory Alarm

Maybe the flashing is normal? Or telling you it's on sensitive. And I think it's called shop manual or service manual one of those lol but yeah Service manual.

Re: Factory Alarm

This belongs in I.C.E. forum, so you'd get a straight answer.

Take the car to an car radio/alarm store. Factory alarms, have no kind of sensitivity check. ADD on Alarm upgrade kits do, and used to be made by CARMATE and two other's I can't remember. NO install manual, no telling without gutting the Unit and searching by part number, or going to said store.

Having said that you could relocate the sensor to somewhere not glass to reduce the sensitivity, but I'd rather have a oversensitive alarm, than one that will let a thief drive away with all your parts

Re: Factory Alarm

There is an adjustment for the glass breakage sensor on the OEM alarm. Just go to your local Honda dealer parts counter and ask them to print out the installation instructions for the OEM alarm. The directions will tell you how to adjust the sensitivity on it. If you would like a photocopy of my OEM alarm owners manual, PM me.
