Re: OEM Locking Lug Key

Find an OLD socket that is a hair smaller than the outside of the nut, hammer it onto the locking lug nut and spin off with your wrench or air gun. Be careful not to snap your lug bolt off. Worked for me. The tire shop didnt put my lug key back and i had to do it to each wheel. There could be better ways but this is what i did. I had no issues. Except having to replace 1 nut on each wheel.

Re: OEM Locking Lug Key

Coulda saved yourself grief buying a spare key. If you have the key card you can order one.

The trick above is a last resort, and usually costs the socket applied. You could also vice-grip and slip a pipe over the handles.

Re: OEM Locking Lug Key

Every key lock from comes with a warranty card/replacement order form. If it wasn't thrown out you can get a replacement key. You have the cast#. Craftsman will replace the socket after the fact, just a noisy process that local authorities will ask you what you're up to.

Re: OEM Locking Lug Key

If you need help getting them off, most tire shops(as well as thieves) have a lug nut removal tool. We have them at work. if you cant get the locking lug nut off a tire shop can in a matter of a few seconds even without the key

Re: OEM Locking Lug Key

I was able to grind it down a bit and get the lug off. I have two more wheels to get off as I am changing the brakes. I am going to contact Honda to see if I can get a replacement. Will let you know how it goes.

Re: OEM Locking Lug Key

Go Mcgard or Gorilla. You can buy spare lug keys, it'll run you about 10-15$. And honda keys are easy to remove.
