help with exhuast..

MY catcon was clogged and asked my mechanic to take it out and he did. I just now found out he cut the back part of it.. so i cant just put a new catcon and the catcon i bought was bigger.. 2.5" inlet and outlet.. so now I'm thinking of replacing the header and the exhaust..
budget 6-700.. directly fits so i cant put it myself..
thanks in advance..

Re: help with exhuast..

Return the catalytic converter (proper name... catcon wtf is that?) if possible.

vibrant can be had for around 500 or less, then the exhaust part you're SOL.

Basically, you wont find anything decent within your price range.

Re: help with exhuast..

i got megan racing headers, and the megan racing catback and a magnaflow hi flow cat, the headers cost 190 i think, the cat was like 115, and the catback was like 330 or 350 something like that... im happy with it, sounds really good i did notice better pickup, people say you dont gain anything really performance wise, so maybe it was the crack in my old piping... but im happy with it all, but if your interested in some DC sports headers, i have a pair for sale, $30 plus shipping, they need to be cleaned up and wrapped, or painted. but they are fine. you would need to get a downpipe yourself but you can find one easy lmk

We drive 4 cylinders, therefore there is (1) header.

Megan and DC are the same as a stock exhaust manifold on an h22.

Measure your Megan collector - I have a funny feeling it is not 2.5", which is what OP needs for his new catalytic converter. He would be better off staying with the stock header if given the option between the two...

i know there is 1 header, sorry, thats just how i speak when im mentioning a part from a manufacturer.... i can measure it, but it is 2.5" i also drive an h23 so sorry that i dont know about the h22 "Header" specs, might be the same as the h23 for all i care, i was just giving my opinion on the "Header" and exhaust i bought for my prelude. i love my exhaust system and its in his price range, sorry i didnt see him mention anything about gaining any more power out of his buy...... look back im sure you wont either

You missed my point. If a Megan or DC is the same spec as stock - why spend the money....

It would be cheaper to just modify the stock collector or after the flex to 2.5" in order to connect to the catalytic converter. Think outside the box there kiddo, try to help vs make a quick buck.

edit*
If an aftermarket header had to be purchased, hytech rep or vibrant would be the way to go. Otherwise he's buying something he already has with megan and dc.

Re: help with exhuast..

it still doesnt matter... he asked a question i answered the question.... my answer was 100% the answer to his question, he asked what exhaust could he afford, he never asked would it be worth it to him... in my case it was worth it and i stated that in my original post, my entire exhaust from the downpipe back was rusted to ****... the only thing salvageable was the header so i replaced the entire system. i love the setup i have though, eventually when i do an engine swap and build it up for a turbo, and thats when i will get a better exhaust system, but im happy with what i have, and he was asking for opinions
