I can't leave my neighborhood!

So this stupid tropical storm Isaac has legit flooded my street, but I need to get to school tomorrow, and the only way to do that is to drive my Lude through it. Will I be safe considering the "puddles" are probably about 6-8" high, and my car is like. . . 4".

Will it be alright as long as no water gets into the engine bay to mess with electrics or get sucked into the intake (or into the car, for that matter )

was pretty nervous to drive home last night from my friends house.. 7 inch puddles + CAI and lowered 3 inches is not a good combo

Nah it's an SRI and I don't think mine is as low as yours lol.

This storm dumped more rain than Wilma, I thought that was impossible.

I wouldn't recommend. A small mistake will get you engine replacement. Just don't it.

ROFLCHOPPA!!!

When's the last time you walked more than 100ft, LOL!

Back to topic: That's a no go, a good portion of your harness will be going underwater. The hell with hydrolock. Bum a ride with a suv or pickup, spot gas money. Email your teachers you can't make it, attach work.

There's always a giant inner tube with egg beater for propulsion.

Re: I can't leave my neighborhood!

I drove threw this huge puddle/lake in the middle of the road after a crazy rain storm and my exhaust went under water. it sounded mad funny but i knew not to let off the gas and i made it threw without a problem. its your call bro but i wouldnt try that again.

Re: I can't leave my neighborhood!

i had no choice to drive through like 3 feet of water one time in my first car, chevy malibu, water was all the way up to the window, so engine was submerged no water in my car thank god but that was like 2 or 3 years ago, stock suspension btw and like i said, I had no choice, i had to get home cause there was a state of emergency.... oh and the reason why i had to go that way, was because it was either that or go over an overflowed bridge with water gushing downstream... same thing though about 3 feet, so i chose the calm water. my engine gave out because i let go of the gas, didnt know any better, and after like 20 cranks while pressing the gas finally started back up and jolted it foward out of the flood

Re: I can't leave my neighborhood!

Okay my. . . ordeal wasn't THAT bad haha, It was just nerve wracking since I just got my 'Lude a week ago and I don't know what it can and cannot handle. I survived (and so did the car). . . and the flooding is gone . Thank God. Like I said, my street has NEVER flooded like that before (even through all of the hurricanes my family has gone through), it was kind of freaky, not knowing if it was going to keep rising or stay where it was. Luckily the rain stopped just as it started to creep up my driveway.

It was an amphibious car for 10 seconds

Re: I can't leave my neighborhood!

Oh yeah it was over yesterday afternoon. Isaac is now hitting Louisiana (hope they are all safe, ya know). After some serious canal pumpage, pretty much all of the streets are water free in my area. What storm was going on in Jersey? was it a system or just like a bunch of thunderstorms?

Hope ya'll stayed safe&dry.
