KYB AGX Struts

Sup,
I believe I am in need of some new rear struts. My car is very bouncy and I can hear the rear struts making noise over every bump. I really want to get rid of the bouncy, rice ride. MY SH is all stock, so I just want to replace the rears with the KYB AGX adjustable struts. I don't intend to lower the car at all. Do you think this will resolve my issue?

Thanks,

Pete

Re: KYB AGX Struts

Is there a difference with base and SH suspension?

Re: KYB AGX Struts

Get the KYB GR2's if your not going to lower the car and just want a stock ride. If you are going to lower the car then I would get the KYB AGX because they are pretty much are made for lowering the car just my opinion. The base model shocks and struts will work just fine for the SH preludes they just say they don't work for insurance purposes..

Re: KYB AGX Struts

I was only going for the AGX because I saw they are adjustable. But, it seems from what I read, most people can't even tell the difference. Do you think is it just worn struts giving me the bouncy ride?

Re: KYB AGX Struts

I would think it is if those are the factory struts/shocks that are on there and the amount of miles that they have..

Re: KYB AGX Struts

Alright,

Pete

Re: KYB AGX Struts

I'm not sure if you've bought your shocks yet, but my advice is to go with the AGX's. Different car, but my brother put AGX's on his 94 mustang and they are great! I used the GR2s on my Turbo Coupe and they're soso. You can definitely tell the different adjustments on the Mustang. They'll probably be what I'm looking into when I need shocks. And they have nothing to do with lowering your car.

Re: KYB AGX Struts

Yes, if its bouncing like a cadillac, than your shocks are done.
And I've never seen any stores sell just rear struts, only all 4. Unless you buy them from someone and not a store.

Re: KYB AGX Struts

Just about any parts store will sell them separately. I know for a fact O'Reilly can get KYB struts, or at least my store can. Advance and AutoZone should be able to but I'm not sure.

Re: KYB AGX Struts

why would you not want to do all four tho anyway, seems kinda pointless to do just the rears...

i put KYB AGX on my Lude thing rides niiice.

on a second note I have a 97 Type SH that i will be parting out most likley...has KYB GR2's and some lowering springs not sure what kind yet havent taken it apart yet. Pm me if you think u might be interested

Re: KYB AGX Struts

I personally have JIC Magic coilovers on my 99, I couldn't ask for a better ride. Soft, yet it instills confidence, ready to take a curve in a heartbeat. I got them used and they still ride better than my buddy's F&F Type1s.
