traction control and door speakers

i didnt know if i should make two threads or one so i just went with one
98 base 5 speed

so first question is does a base 5 speed come with traction control?
everywhere i read says only sh 5speed do but i swear its like it has a fuel cut off or something when it slips, and it only happens when the tire looses traction

second question is anyone have any recommendations on door speakers?
i preferably dont want to cut the housing of the speaker to fit a bigger one but i dont want a crappy shallow speaker either. my main concern is that if i cut the housing will water get to the speaker when it rains, or will the window hit it when i roll it down?
just so you know i plan on getting a 6.5 component speaker not the ones with the twitters built in just plain speaker.

thanks in advance

no t.c. on any model prelude.
cv slipping possibly, does it make any odd noises when you turn corners?
I cut apart the blown factory speakers to make mounting brackets for some component
5.25 inch speakers. Dealt with the slighty undersized 6.5" opening and i didn't have to ruin the speaker baskets.
or add a spacer ring, just be sure they will still fit under the grille (if you want the grilles on).

Re: traction control and door speakers

as far as i know no it hasnt made any noises that the cv is going bad. but how would that cause the car to make it feel like it has TC?

ok will do i just wanted to know if it will damage the speaker at all with the water or window and i havent found much luck the last time i checked but that was a while ago.

it was just a guess. dump the clutch at 4k and see if it still feels like t.c.

Re: traction control and door speakers

The fuel cut off you're feeling is probably wheelhop, where the tire intermittently loses and gains traction due to a worn bushing or a bad/old strut. My car does the same thing. No Prelude ever came with Traction control, even though the ATTS (in the SH model only) is often referred to as traction control (and it is, so to speak).

Some JDM 4th gens got traction control, but not many. Even then the TC was crap.
