my header and intake project

So I'm Kinda stuck, at a point where i really need to do a overhaul on my piston rings and check my timing when i learn how lol. So right now I'm making my Megan racing headers and intake look a little better, to fulfill my need to work on the lude.

I just primed my intake, which i really like the clean look of whit, which i know wont last long so I'm going to get a finishing coat, don't know what color yet. Any opinions?

I took the crappy heat wrapping off my headers which was on when i bought the car. My header are hard on the eyes so I'm going to polish them. Does anyone know how long the luster would last after a good polish or would it stay.

Re: my header and intake project

hope you have better luck getting those headers off than i did. had to drill out the old studs and rethread it.... mine looked exactly like yours did....

oh and good job on the intake btw. the color on your exterior looks nice, try to match it thats my opinion

Re: my header and intake project

Yeah i have a white Lude and i'm going for a red and white look. can't wait to paint my intake. i'm kind of thinking of painting mine white. as far as the headers i prefer to paint them but that's just me.

Re: my header and intake project

Thanks for the comment on the primer job. Im gonna try and polish the headers while in the car buuuut i think its going to be a real pain.. and i want the backside to match even if you cant see it. I just put a red coat of paint on the intake to match the car, color scheme is black and red right now, but i need a new paint job so who knows what it will be later.

Re: my header and intake project

Since your prelude is red I say a Red similar to the AEM intake or closer to your paint. Or black. But since you wanna polish your headers chrome wouldn't look bad.

Re: my header and intake project

looks good man, if you do decide to paint the headers though, my votes for a gloss black, but no matter what, i would say take them out to work on them, dont half ass it, like you said, even if nobody can see it

Re: my header and intake project

Yea i tried sanding while they were still on there and it wasnt happening, especially where they twist together and everything. I like to get those headers that loop up from the motor then go back under the car, anyone else seen these?

I assume your talking about the ram horn header. I think they look good but not on every car.
