Color matched rear "H" emblem?

Has anyone ever tried this? Or seen it? I recently bought one of those fix a scratch things with the brush to fix a few chips and was very impressed on how the color matched it's practically perfect. I don't like having emblems on my car but don't like the holes they leave. So I was thinking of taking it off using the fix a scratch brush on it to color match it to the car so it's less noticeable. I was thinking of plugging them but I don't want to do that until I repaint the car and thought this would be easier and if the color is off a little it won't look as bad since the emblems don't match anyways.
Unless there's a easy non- permanent way to plug and color match the holes Im also thinking about that.

It's been done. Usually with spraypaint. Go for it, paintscratch.com sells matching paint in quarts, spraycans, brushes etc.

Re: Color matched rear "H" emblem?

Hm 25 bucks isn't bad. Would that paint be safe to use on the spark plug cover and intake? I have engine enamel on them but the blue isn't perfect to ebp.

Re: Color matched rear "H" emblem?

Well I just took off the emblem and looks like the previous owner broke the little screws and it was held on with some double sided tape -_- I have some double sided tape though.

Re: Color matched rear "H" emblem?

I just painted it it kinda looks crappy :( The brush left streaks in the paint kinda knew that was going to happen but oh well. Kinda regretting this now lol.

Re: Color matched rear "H" emblem?

I don't see why not. I have a sparkplug cover sitting here that was just painted with regular spray paint and it never flaked/chipped/pealed etc due to the heat. My intake was painted previously as well, and it's holding up just fine.

I don't have any pics, but i've seen it done mostly on black or white 5th gens, and once before on a red.

lol yeah - that's why most just do it with spraycans

If you want to just plug the holes - local hardware stores like lowes and home depo usually carry small plastic plugs that you could just paint and toss on.

Re: Color matched rear "H" emblem?

I've also heard of people plugging the holes with a pencil eraser then cutting it flush. Kind of ghetto.

Re: Color matched rear "H" emblem?

Lol that is kinda ghetto. It doesn't look too bad I think I'll stay with it for now I would do the plugs but then you could still see where the holes were. I was thinking of putting something over the holes but idk what. Let me post a pic.
