Motor Mount

I need a new front motor mount since it's done. I'm getting a new one from auto zone but not sure if I should fill them in with silicone or get inserts from ES. What do you guys think? I know filling them in with silicone would be cheaper but I rather have quality, better result and longevity.

Found this online as well. What you think? haha

Re: Motor Mount

I just posted that thread for the heck of it. The front motor mount needs to be replaced just because it needs to since the one it has is done. Just wondering what else could I add to stiffin' it up even more. Don't really care about wheel hope haha

Re: Motor Mount

If you don't plan on getting a traction bar at all - just buy an innovative front mount in 65a (basically stock) or 75a (about as stiff as a filled mount)

They only make the tq mount for the traction bar. I was being sarcastic.

Innovative makes a front mount for the stock crossmember but that's about it besides filling the mounts or using inserts.

No I actually didn't but I find it very annoying when coming to almost a complete stop on 1st gere and then going on the gas pedal because it moves back and for. I'll be getting Innovative motor mounts either 60a (red) or 75a (black/gray) not sure I've heard stiffer mounts are a bit annoying since they shake the car more du to vibration .

Well I'll see how my ride feels after I replace ithe front one with innovative motor mount for now. My tranny mount was ripped so I replaced that with an oem replacement and no difference was felt but I could see why since it's on the side and adds some support to the tranny.

once 75a's are broken in, the vibration isn't THAT bad, but still noticeable

the 60a's are pretty much like stock - but there have been issues with the mount tearing on the drivers side

Wings, so how would you grade the install process?? Is it simple replacement from OEM parts? There's no modification needed right??

Why not just replace all of them with OEM? Driver's side most likely won't need to be replaced, thats the most expensive.
If you get those aftermarket ones, your ride will be stiffer but the cabin vibration won't go away.
I'm changing all of them except the driver's side and mine are all original, they lasted 13 years, how much longevity do you want from a motor mount?
Do yourself a favor and buy OEM, they've been proven to last. Keep your old ones and if you like "fill them up" this way you have a spare set available.

Installing Innovative 75a mounts... man you're making me think back a few years on this one! No modification needed.

I only had issues with the transmission mount - but that's due to the bushing not being fully pressed from innovative. Otherwise an easy install that took maybe 2 hours tops w/ setup/cleanup from what I recall... 30 min-1 hour of that being the difficulty I had with the trans mount. Only thing I removed from the engine bay was the intake.

I forget the order I did them in, think I did drivers, trans, rear. Used a jack with a 2x4 on it to support the engine as I swapped the mounts one at a time. Straightforward install. Don't tighten them completely until they're all installed - it'll help.

thanks wings. yeah i been debating on this because vibration in my car isnt bad i think its bad because of the exhaust, but i know i need to do it eventually. was going to try maybe around summer/late spring. do you know if the mount for auto/manual tranny is same??

It's been awhile but I believe both the bracket and the mount differ between the auto and manual.

Crossing Honda's parts numbers - and yeah they are both different.
