OBD noob questions

I've been searching around and haven't really found a strait answer to these..

What does OBD stand for?
What is the difference between the OBD1 and OBD2?
How do I know which one my lude has?

Thanks in advance for any help

Re: OBD noob questions

OBD stands for on board diagnostics.

if you have a 96 and up vehicle then it is a OBD2(5th gen are all OBD2)...some older vehicles like 94 and 95 can be OBD2 but do not have to be.

People like OBD1 because it is tuneable. OBD2 will correct itself from changes you make. This means you have to use a piggy back system.

OBD2 can be converted to OBD1 for tuning with just a jumper harness and a OBD1 computer.
