Auto tranny help.

I've researched and couldn't find much that was similar to my condition. So long story short. I have an 01 prelude auto and has always had problems shifting into 2nd but the year I've driven it has never gotten worse. Yesterday we went to austin and back for a Prelude meet and we noticed after a while driving it it would kinda act up. This only happened 3 times but it the shifting into 2nd was worse. it would take a long time maybe 5 seconds but it would shift. Also once we went into reverse and it took a long time for it to grab but it did go into reverse. On the way home we got a CEL which was my fuel system cause we have a bad 02 sensor so that's no a problem since it's on the way. But when I pulled the codes my D4 light was blinking, it blinked 7 times. After research, No it does not blink while driving and has never blinked while driving and my RPM's doesn't bounce when I downshift upshift etc. So what does this mean??? I couldn't find out what the 7 blinks mean. I reseted the ecu and the blinking didn't come back up and after driving it it was fine, back to normally slipping 1st to 2nd.

Re: Auto tranny help.

Your tranny is starting to go. You can either send it to Level10 to get it rebuilt, or you can 5 speed swap it. Or you could test the solenoids on the tranny. Those are most likely what went. Try changing the fluid first tho. Burned fluid will **** up a tranny real quick.

Re: Auto tranny help.

mine did the same thing going into third gear. and then sometimes it would stay in neutral and never grab a gear. i tested all my solenoids and they were good, added honda ATF and it still did the same but not as bad. then one day it just didn't want to grab any gear. after removing the transmission, my torque converter had gone bad and also the gears were gone inside the transmission. so your best bet is to either swap it soon or have someone who really knows there transmissions to diagnose it.
