speedo off

hey guys ive got a question ive had my 01 base for a couple months with stock wheel and tire size and it seems after going by a few radar signs my speedo is showing 4-5 mph faster than acctual speed. is this a problem with this model or it just my luck, is there a easy fix. i have a set of 17" rims with 215/40 tires and this is slightly small than stock so if i put them on my speedo will be another mph off.

Re: speedo off

Eh, happened to me with the exact same model with stock tires and wheels. Don't worry about it.

Re: speedo off

Dont count on that. My speedo showed me as about 5-7 mph fast on those signs, just got a ticket by state patrol that showed my speedo was correct. Dont trust those signs.

Re: speedo off

The calibration of the radar on those signs isn't checked and adjusted as often as the radar and laser guns used to give out speeding tickets so that may be the reason. I like to drive by them as fast as possible and the one I pass by is in a 40 mph zone but it maxes out at 80 mph and doesn't read any higher than that. I was doing 88 when I passed it.

Re: speedo off

I dunno how valid this is, but when I'm cruising on the highway at 120 kph beside a civic, their speedo shows like 110 lol. Tho even at "120", I'm traveling at the same speed or even faster than most ppl. I refuse to believe ppl actually drive 100 kph on the highways...

Re: speedo off

update got the speedohealer easy as hell to install, lets u adjust to the .000 just used a gps to get a accurate speed. it has two memory banks so if u have aftermarket wheels u save those too. $160 but worth it to me.
