Honda Prelude Issue (2000)

My car sounds like an electronic when I gas it or whenever I drive it. Any help?! Please & thank you.

Re: Honda Prelude Issue (2000)

Is it coming from the speakers? Try unplugging the radio

Re: Honda Prelude Issue (2000)

^I don't think his speakers are the problem if they were blown it would be a fuzzy noise. Though he only hears it when he presses the gas I don't think speakers are connected in anyway to that.
Sometimes a bad or soon to fail timing belt makes noises.

Re: Honda Prelude Issue (2000)

Are you possibly hearing a belt whine? Open the hood and tap the throttle a little while listening for an odd sound on the driver side of the motor. Could be alternator/ac belt, ps belt or timing belt.

Re: Honda Prelude Issue (2000)

If you have a bad alternator belt I know it makes a horrible squeaking sound when the AC is on.

Re: Honda Prelude Issue (2000)

The throttle could be a direct response through the speaker. When ever the throttle is pushed, the engine opens and spins the alternator belt faster, causing a voltage rise. If you have an cheap aftermarket head unit, cheap RCA cables, or a bad ground somewhere for that matter, you will get what's known as an "alt wine"..
