How to tell if my acoustic feedback system is working?

I recently found out the little microphone's that make the whole acoustic feedback system thing happen were cut by the two red/black wires. Today I rewired them black to black and red to red with crimpers and turned on the music and I don't know if it's in my head but it kinda feels like the base is a bit stronger. But how do I tell if the whole system is working? Im kinda curious on why they were cut in the first place. It does seem like they had aftermarket speakers in before and put the stock ones in after cause the connectors to the speakers are on different sides. Left speaker connectors are closer to the backseat and the right speaker connectors are closer to the rear of the car.

With your stock speakers? Today all my music was fuzzy and didn't sound good. Idk if it was just my radio but Im going to make a cd right now and see if it does it then.

Re: How to tell if my acoustic feedback system is working?

They cut the microphone wires because that makes it default to the base EQ. The AFBS system relies on that microphone to tell it what the front speakers are doing, and it adjusts the sound output from there. If it is finding no input whatsoever, it makes the rear speakers louder to compensate. I just disconnected the whole thing, My rear speakers are there they just aren't powered. I have yet to go back in and splice the harness and bypass the system.
