Blowing Ecu fuse like christmas lights.....

whats good guys im having one of the biggest problems i see in a prelude and i searched all over no answer. my 98 lude is blowing the eat ecu fuse like it was a christmas light. also battery is draining after replacing the battery and the alternator, now the cel and the seat belt light is not going on, when i bring down my e-break the battery and the brake light goes on but the dash is very dim. i replaced the vss cause the mph gauge doesnt wanna work and still wont work. what i wanna kno before i start taking **** apart or buy myself a gernade and throw it in the car. is this problem coming from my, Ecu, ignition switch, a main relay, ignition coil, or the igniter and i doubt its ground. and please no smart ass remarks dont need that

Re: Blowing Ecu fuse like christmas lights.....

damn, sounds like you have a major wiring issue happening. Are there a lot of wires randomly running under the dash for things like an alarm, switchs, neons, ect. ect.

yeah defintly a direct short somewhere...wiggle all the wires around the car you can see then try a new fuse...other than that your life is going to suck.

I like your thread title lol. Are they ebay fogs wired into the inside fuse box? Try following the wires and see if anything is messed up.

Re: Blowing Ecu fuse like christmas lights.....

Im pretty sure it's your foglights. A lot of people screw up with wiring those things especially since you gotta go through the entire bay and find a way through the fire wall. I used my prewired factory wires to get my ebay fogs working. I had a friend that had the same problem your having and it was his foglights.

Re: Blowing Ecu fuse like christmas lights.....

Check your ground wire for your fogs! Bc back when I had my fogs installed that I grounded the wire to the center plate in front of the condenser! Was losing power n what it jus like you tip I discovered that where I grounded the wire that there was paint on that plate from an accident prior to installing my fogs n the shop spraying paint the lazy way n got onto that plate instead of properly removing the bumper to spray separately. After sanding that part to bare metal that I replaced the ground wire n BAM I'm golden n my fogs work!
