could it be the exhaust leak? please help.

i have a 5 speed 2000 prelude sh. i had a small exhaust leak that was getting worse. a couple days ago i noticed my car idling very rough. yesterday it started shutting off while idling. and today it wouldnt idle at all. it just shuts off if its in neutral. i had a check engine light on and it was throwing a code for the leak but i reset it. no new codes have came up. could the exhaust leak have gotten so bad to cause this? any feedback is appreciated. thank you.

There's no such thing as a CEL for an "exhaust leak". What was the real code?

Re: could it be the exhaust leak? please help.

it could be messing with the o2 sensor if the leak is before/at the sensor.

but cant see it causing those problems. maybe it would run rich and bad mpgs at most.

Usually when there is a leak from your exhaust I thought it was coolant. What color is it and does it smell sweet? You might want to not drive it for now.

Probably not the ignition switch unless your dash lights don't work in the on (II) position or something
