Chipped Key Replacement... HELP MEEEEE

OK so as most of you know I sold my wrecked Prelude a couple months back. Well I only had the factory chipped key that starts the car and a generic spare to open doors etc..

He called me yesterday and said the chip or something isn't working?? He was at the store and went to leave and non of the dash lights turn on and it obviously wont start??

Think it is the key or the whole system? I am not exactly sure how that works I just know it has some sort of chip... because I was going to remote start it and you have to mount a spare up onder the dash to bypass it.

Also I heard that at Honda you have to have the learn key to get a new one made or have the ecu flashed to new codes? Please any help is great he needs to get another key.

THANKS in advance

I had that problem before my sister smart as she is lost the key, not sure where you live but I went to Honda in San leandro,ca you need the T5 key think you can get one at eBay haven't tried it I bought mine at dealer for like 55, if they have the equipment with your cars Vin number they can look up the code and program a new key and cut it for you well you need to get a guy that's good and not an a$%^&*# they can do it for you then worked for me and no problems now

No dash lights? Does it crank and no start? I had a similar Problem with my aftermarket alarm where it had a bypass on the ignition switch and the alarm had gone bad. The ignition switch wasn't activated so I had no dash lights, fuel pump prime etc

lol. I had the Clifford intelliguard 6000. Not the greatest alarm system IMO if that's what it is I suggest removing the Clifford Immobilizer wires and just leaving the lock and sensors
