Need lots of help Complete Noob

I am a complete noob when it come to anything about doing any of this. I owned a 89 Prelude SI. After years of wanting another one I bought a '99 Prelude about 6 months ago and it is not my daily driver. I am a stereo SQ competitor and this is my new SQ comp car in the building phase. I have done alot of reading on here and other places but feel like I am still super dumb about all this stuff.

I am not looking to do any track stuff just do some stuff for my own enjoyment and help off-set all the weight that will get added through the stereo. I want to add some appereance stuff put keep it close to stock looking for the most part.

Correct or give input on anything you feel is wrong or if I am headed in the wrong direction. Tell me if other stuff needs to be added that I have not listed. I am very knowledgable about car audio if anyone needs any help with that.

Car is Red with black leather. This car is an automatic wish it was a 5 speed but it was a great deal and serves my needs. Plus I am kinda old. I am not looking for 200whp just some more to even out the weight added. More power is always good and welcomed though.

Here is the parts list so far:
Air Intake-AEM V2
Intake Manifold-Skunk2
Throttle Body-Skunk2
Headers-DC Sports
Exhaust-Greedy EVO2
High Flow Cat-Random Technology
Light Weight Street Fly Wheel-ACT 12.1???
Brake Rotor-Brembro Slotted
Brake Pads-Brembro Sport Pads
Brake Lines-Earl's
Suspension-KYB AGX or Tokico Illumina
Springs-Eibach Pro Lower:F 1.3" R 1.3" or Skunk2 Adjustable Springs
Struts Front and Rear-DC Sports
Tie Bar-DC Sports
Front Lower Grill-??????
Front Headlight Assemblies-JDM Black
Rear Tail lights-???????
Wheels-Konig CrossHairs, Quiz or Imagine_b size 17 x 7
Tires?????-Have No Clue What to buy-want something that has some decent tread life, looks good and handles/rides good
Seats-Momo Speed 2 Racing Seats
Pedals-Momo GP Pedal Set for Automatic Trans.
Interior-Probably just re-doing some stuff in alcatara, a dash kit and custom floor and trunk mats.

Thanks to anyone that can help me out. I am stupid when it comes to most of this stuff. I understand the basics and thats about it.

Ok, Imma just put my analysis in parenthesis beside your parts.

Here is the parts list so far:
Air Intake-AEM V2 (Not a bad choice. I'd look more into Injen SRI and then get a BPi Flowstack)
Intake Manifold-Skunk2 (I've heard good things but I'd go with the EuroR, but it requires a little modification with the fuel lines.)
Throttle Body-Skunk2 (What size? Just make sure you port the manifold to match it for optimum performance.)
Headers-DC Sports (It's a "header" on a 4 banger. Don't worry about this. The only ones worth anything in my book are custom like kteller, rmf, smsp, etc. but they cost a pretty penny. DC is basically a flashy, less-quality OEM replacement)
Exhaust-Greedy EVO2 (Good choice. Greddy is very reputable)
High Flow Cat-Random Technology (Another good choice)
Light Weight Street Fly Wheel-ACT 12.1??? (Perfect)
Brake Rotor-Brembro Slotted (Very nice)
Brake Pads-Brembro Sport Pads (Good good)
Brake Lines-Earl's (I plan on getting these myself :))
Suspension-KYB AGX or Tokico Illumina (Go with KYB)
Springs-Eibach Pro Lower:F 1.3" R 1.3" or Skunk2 Adjustable Springs (Just get the Eibach)
Struts Front and Rear-DC Sports (These will be ok)
Tie Bar-DC Sports (Haven't heard any complaints on it)
Front Lower Grill-?????? (Leave it stock)
Front Headlight Assemblies-JDM Black (If you mean the Depo replacements, good, but nothing else other than stock or a projector retrofit, not ebay projectors)
Rear Tail lights-??????? (Stock. Nothing else)
Wheels-Konig CrossHairs, Quiz or Imagine_b size 17 x 7 (I love the Cross hairs. Go for em!)
Tires?????-Have No Clue What to buy-want something that has some decent tread life, looks good and handles/rides good (I really liked my Yokohama V4's. If you don't plan on racing, you can get the slightly harder H4's and they'll last a little longer. Both are great. I'm about to put another set on both my Ludes in the near future)
Seats-Momo Speed 2 Racing Seats (Keep the leather or give them to me)
Pedals-Momo GP Pedal Set for Automatic Trans. (Whatever you like but I prefer stock)
Interior-Probably just re-doing some stuff in alcatara, a dash kit and custom floor and trunk mats. (OEM carbon fiber trim kit is just dead sexy and all you really need)

Thanks for the input looks like I can save some money by not going all crazy. Glad I asked before just shelling out cash. Found that OEM Carbon Fiber trim kit. I will check on the AI you mentioned. What should I do on the header just leave it stock or is worth spending the money for one of the ones you listed for the little bit I am doing. On the Momo Seats you saying don't bother on them either, that would save me a big chunk of change$$. On headlights, yes the Depo Replacements. Anyone have a link to the correct healights I am trying to find them but the ones I am finding I do not think are the correct ones. I have no clue what size TB I should considering got any thoughts Pros/Cons to size.

The interior of the car is like new. The old lady put 145,000 miles on it commuting to work each day but she babied the hell out it. Garaged keep and never smoked in. She had the entire maintenance service records from the dealership where she took it for everything.

I appreciate all your help and time SI Speed.

If there is anything else that anyone thinks I need or would help the car stand out a little at the shows just list it, without going overboard.

I found a place to get the EuroR manifold and the prices are not bad. I found a place that specializes in doing the mod work to the manifold and get the TB port matching done.(Place a called RoskoRacing.com)

So now what size TB do I get, I was thinking 68mm.

Does the fuel rail or ECM need to be upgraded along with the mods I am doing or leave it alone?

I gave $6000 for it which I felt was a good deal comparing it to ebay prices, blue book, kelly blue book, edmunds and classifieds. It had new Kumho tires and the timing belt had been changed documented by the Honda Dealership. She had the oil changed every 3,000 miles all documented.

The only flaw I found on the car was the interior door handles the chrome is starting to flake off but that is being picky. The Lady was 58 yrs. old that I got the car from.

So did I get a decent deal or I am smoking something.

On the EuroR I am just going to do a package deal from RoskoRacing.com

It is the easiest way to go that I have seen. Their prices appear to be on par with others I have found but I like the package deal. I am already spending the money so might as well do it right the first time I figure.

If you want to fork out $800+ for a header, go ahead. Those show gains from 7-20 hp, depending on tune and internal work. You won't see 20 hp though without sorta heavy internal work but 7 is better than 3 or less by DC when they're over $400 themselves. 68mm is good and a header would compliment that so you could put your seat money towards a good header. PM ogsmakdade or rheakpl. Ogs has the RMF header and rheakpl has an SMSP, see how they like them.

My parts list has changed alot thanks to the all the help so far. I am getting the RMF header. I will update the parts list as to what has changed tomorrow. I might do cams also. I ams till in the planning phase but plan to buy almost everything at one time, down to my last 90 days to save. I found some JDM parts that I would like to have also that will get added. This is addictive and the JDM parts are not cheap, guess you have to pay to play though.

What are you thoughts on JDM rims or are these actually JDM rims the cost is about double the Konig is was looking at. Is just better to just go with the Konig CrossHairs I had planned. I know the Mugen will fit but will the others, as in is the bolt pattern the same.
Mugen MZ3 17"
Civic EP3 Type R 17"
Integra DC5 17"
Civic FD2 Type R 18"

Most of those will fit stud pattern wise; check the offsets though.

This is what I found out so far
Mugen MZ3 17" -These will direct bolt on
Civic EP3 Type R 17"-These are a +45 off-set
Integra DC5 17"-These are a +50 off-set
Civic FD2 Type R 18"-Still working on these but these are close to $2000 a set shipped.

The rest of them are about $1850 shipped a set. Except the Mugen's which are $1450.00 shipped.

Stock rims are a 55 offset, and I'm running 42 with no troubles. May require a little fiddling with the inner guard though, depending on what tyres you choose, and how low you wanna go.

This is the changes so far from all the help. I am now going to have to find someone around me or shop to help do some of this work. I have already ordered some of the interior/exterior parts. Anyone else that has any more input please let me know as I am dropping orders on stuff all ready.

Here is the new parts list so far:
Air Intake-Injen SRI with BPi Flowstack
Intake Manifold-EuroR package from RoskoRacing Port Matched to TB
Throttle Body-Skunk2 or STR 68mm looking at a few others also
Headers-RMF
Exhaust-Greddy EVO2
High Flow Cat-Random Technology
Valve Cover-JDM Red Valve Cover with Billet Alum. Spark Plug Wire Cover
Oil Cap-Type R Oil Filler Cap
Cams-Looking at the JDM Type S Camshaft Set or Skunk2 sets
Cam Gears-Either Skunk2 or JUN
Pistons-If I go this far will but probably will not it would be the JDM Type S Pistons
Light Weight Street Fly Wheel-ACT 12.1
Pulley-Unorthodox will be used if this is decided to be done
Engine Management-??? Kinda Hard as stuff like HonData will not work with auto trans.
Piggy Back Controller-Apex’i VAFC2
Ignition-???Not sure I need to do anything probably upgrade spark plug wires and plugs
Brakes-Rotora Brake Kit-4 Piston Big Brake Kit front, Rotora Slotted Rear
Brake Lines-Earl's
Suspension-KYB AGX
Springs-Eibach Pro
Rear Sway Bar-Progressive Adj.
Struts Front and Rear Bars-Front JDM Type S Strut Rear-Tanabe
Tie Bar-DC Sports
Front Headlight Assemblies-JDM Depo Black
Wheels-Konig CrossHairs or Mugen MZ3 or M5 17 x 7
Tires- Yokohama H4's
Interior-JDM CF kit to include CF Guage Cluster Bezel. JDM Digital Climate Control, JDM Center Console cup holder, JDM Door Sills, Momo GP Pedal Set for Automatic Trans, Gauges Not sure if I am going to change them at all
Exterior- JDM door Visor’s, JDM Type S fog light kit, JDM CF Fuel Door not cover whole door, JDM Power Fold Mirrors

I am trying to keep it as stock looking as possible with small subtle differences that only people with ludes would notice. Ofcourse people will notice rims and the difference in stance but thats fine.

a carbon fibre spark plug cover, i think, would look nicer than a billet alluminum one. and have you put any thought into a lip kit or are you just gonna roll stock?

I have thought about a lip kit but I wanted to see what the car sat like before I did a lip kit. My driver way is very steep and I garage the car even taking my drive at a slant it is going to be rough with it lowered.

I will look into the CF cover. Do you have a recommendation of one to look at.

Thanks for the input

Check into the Type S front strut bar. I've heard that it has to be modified to work on a standard Lude. It's a direct bolt on for a SH though.

If you find a carbon fiber spark plug cover, tell me cause I've seen them before but can't find one to buy it. Grrr...
