Icon10 Some updates on my 2000 SH

Here is what I have done to my 2000 SH since purchase... New battery, 20% window tint with visor, Broadway rear view mirror, 2.5 magnaflow exhaust system with new cat, resonator, and magnaflow dual tip muffler with polished tips, front and driver side motor mounts replaced, left and right front axles replaced,

new NGK iridium spark plugs, NGK wire set (blue), new rotor and cap, pc valve, new valve cover gasket, scangauge 2 dash mounted, LED lighting controlled by switches, replaced original headlights due to bad oxidation even after renewing numerous times, installed DEPO black housing headlights.

The next big mod that I want to do to my prelude is new rims and tires.. I can't decide on what color to go with that would look really clean with my paint. I'm considering hyper silver or something similar since the stock blades look pretty good color wise. Since my prelude is lowered I am thinking about sticking with a 16" rim so that I don't lose out on ride quality. Maybe even 17" max.

After that I plan on getting a VIS invader carbon fiber hood with hood pins, then have it painted to match the rest of the car. Performance wise do you guys have any suggestions? I hear with the SH model your limited to how much modding you can do due to the ATTS. I would be fine with eventually getting it to its max of 250HP anyways, but i'm lost on what to do to get it there. Here are some pics. I'll upload engine bay pics soon.

Thanks in advance for any inputs and advice

Original headlights

New DEPO black housing headlights

Detailing interior/broadway rearview mirror

Interior at night with Alpine HU, Scanguage 2 mounted above steering column, LED interior lighting at footwell, switches under HU to control different sections of LEDs

Exterior LED RGB lighting in lower grill and underneath car. Color can be changed via remote along with go to music. I know what people are thinking "ricer" haha and thats alright. Not my intentions, I've just always loved LED lighting and customization (as you can see from additional pictures from my previous work). I usually drive with the grill set as white LED, which looks pretty awesome at dusk and night.

Dual tip magnaflow muffler tied into 2.5 exhaust with resonator and new cat, complete magnaflow system

Looks good, not a fan of the neon although I'd love to see a pic of the front grill w/ white led. You could get 250hp with ITB's easily, or a hytech rep header 3 inch exhaust and high flow cat at about 220ish

thanks man, I know the lighting isn't for everyone but to each his own. I have everything off of switches so that I can have the grill on just by itself and so on. That would suck if I have to switch out the exhaust system to reach those numbers since the existing costed me some decent $, is that a must? Or would my existing setup be fine?

Here is a shot of the grill with the LED set to white. (ignore the underneath light since this pic had that on as well)

Re: Some updates on my 2000 SH

Also any thoughts/advice on rim setup for how my car sits with paint color etc?

Thanks man, trying to get things rolling. There are still a lot of cosmetic upgrades that I want to do. Along with figuring out what good engine mods should be done that would improve the performance without straining the engine too much. This is all new to me so i'm learning as I go

Re: Some updates on my 2000 SH

You don't have to get a new exhaust. Getting a hytech rep header will easily add 10+hp and with a tune some people reach 13-15hp.

Cool I'll have to look into that for one of my next purchases. Is cold air intake worth the $? Right now I just have stock with a K&N drop in rechargeable. Also, checked your build looks clean man. I need to do an engine wash bad on mine, looks similar to yours at first pick up. That and you have a few mods done that I plan on working. LED trunk light, the map lights are awesome too, i'll probably throw the blue in the center as well to match the rest of my lighting.

Re: Some updates on my 2000 SH

I like the interior LED lighting….I might have to do some of it. I would stick with your current intake set up, unless yours gets a tear in it like mine did. CAI's are good, but for me there's too much risk with sucking up standing water and hydrolocking the motor. Given, it has to be at least 50% throttle with the whole thing submerged, but where I go I can never tell.

Re: Some updates on my 2000 SH

I love the car! Clean! Im the neon lights look alright, they aren't too much so its okay! Not that rice! Haha.
How much did that exhaust system cost you? Does it sound deep?
Do you remember the model number for it? Especially the muffler?

Besides any of that, the setup looks clean. The rims look good with the paint, but i wouldn't know what to get with that color paint... Its a bit harder

Thanks man, the whole LED set up didn't cost me that much. Feet area, grill, under car, off of 3 switches one for each area. They are RGB LED, so I can change them to 10 or so different colors along with white all off of one strip by remote. Also have it set up to play off of music, ill have to upload a vid of that. The whole install probably cost me no more than $100.00 if that. Thanks for the advice on the CAI, i'll probably just stick with stock then. Headers will probably be the next engine upgrade for me.

Yeah unfortunately. I'm the 3rd owner, the original owner repainted the car a Porsche color code after the red started to fade according to the guy that I bought it off of. There isn't any frame damage, and all panels match up. According to carfax report there has not been any accidents (at least none reported). The car will have to be repainted eventually with a good paint job this time when the money is there. I will more than likely keep it the color it is now since it looks clean in my opinion. Paint is probably the last thing that I am going to do since its not going to improve handling or performance lol and to me I would rather have those first.

Thanks! I try to keep it as clean as I can. I usually roll around with interior cleaner in my trunk with a cloth and wipe her down any time I'm waiting on someone haha. With new Cat, resonator, 2.5 pipe, muffler, and tips labor and parts came out to $550.00 out the door. The shop I went to does beyond clean work, and the entire setup is magnaflow so it was worth the money. The sound of my exhaust is really clean in my opinion, especially with the resonator, pretty deep. It does't sound all high pitched or rice or even like a lawnmower like some that i've heard haha.

Rims and tires is what I want my next big purchase to be, but still no idea on the color. So any suggestions would be cool

Re: Some updates on my 2000 SH

Do you know what the model number is for your muffler? Or what the whole system was called? Haha, im figuring out what i should do with my lude.

As far as wheels go... From the way your car looks. I say you stick with the silver color and black/ charcoal lip to match your car? OR you can do all black, or with a silver lip.
Like that doesnt look to bad, but i still like the all silver IMO

Model number on the muffler should be 12198. I love my set up for the exhaust it sounds beyond clean. And the dual tip muffler with polished tips is pretty sick in my opinion, since our OEM is dual it looks awesome. everything is by magnaflow & 2 1/2 pipe. I wanted the resonator put in so that it wasn't super loud in the cab while driving, and i'm glad I did because it left it at a really nice tone. Especially when hitting VTEC sounds clean.

That lude looks really close to my paint color actually, and rims look really clean. Are those chromium black? I'm thinking a 5 spoke aftermarket rim, since the originals are 5. Probably all silver also. and maybe 17'' since i'm dropped and prob wont lose out on ride quality too much at a 17"

And the clear side markers look legit. The side profile looks pretty cool with the body paint and rims with clear markers

Haha, well its not mine sad to say. I just looked up a random lude that looked like yours. But i agree, i like the whole setup as well.

I like your setup too, but im trying to figure out if i should just get the muffler first and see how it sounds or get the whole cat-back... Haha im cheap

haha right on thanks for looking that up, I was half asleep when I saw the pic and thought it was part of your sig lol. You can try just the muffler, but without the resonator thrown in there not sure how it would sound... might be too loud unless thats what your looking for.
