headlights

Before I bought my lude the previous owner changed out one of the headlight units and not the other so one is super clear and looks great while the other is the faded sun burnt yellow since its still the original....

I've tried restoring kits and cleaners on it but nothing brings it up to par with the other, so the questions are..

Does anyone know a good site to buy a new OEM replacement headlight?
Or have any suggestions on a different than OEM set to buy?

Also, I was looking at random sites and the cheapest I found was 185$ for one OEM replacement, is that good? or..

And for a new set I would like something 400$ or under

Thanks for the input

Re: headlights

For 185 bucks for just one OEM replacement your better off getting some black housed depos off of ebay, look better then OEM and are just as good in quality. Have you tried wet sanding the light? or a rubbing compound? I was able to revive some nasty yellow faded headlights in the past with a Turtle Wax rubbing compound and polishing it with something like Plasti-x and slapping some wax ontop,

Re: headlights

So these wouldnt be a good idea? --<http://www.carid.com/1997-honda-prelude-headlights/spec-d-ccfl-halo-led-projector-headlights-313906.html>-- I've heard really good and really bad about them..
I think ultimately I want new lights just so theyre the same and if i have to pay at least 185$ might as well put in a little more and change them both out now instead of spending it and then changing them later

Re: headlights

I had those before my depos. They get a ton of bashing due to the hated halo look. Overall quaility isn't too bad the output was pretty good with mine. Sometimes the halo rings go out pretty quick and your screwed with a crappy light.
97-01 Prelude JDM Black Crystal DEPO Headlights Lamps | eBay

I would go with those, I bought them from the same exact seller. Good stuff, you won't be disappointed at all with these.

Re: headlights

do you have those DEPOs on right now? if you do could you post a front nose picture so I can see how they look, I have an ebp too. Also, they just bolt in and take the same lighting fixtures as the OEMs right? so I wont have to rewire or buy new lighting kits.

If i decide to go HIDs like you did, is that wiring hard or pretty straight forward?

Re: headlights

I checked out your build thread too, looks good btw:)
I also have the same black skirts and rear lip thing, what are those called? I know they arent the OEM optional lip package, I'm just not sure what else there is..
and where did you get the decals you have under the hood?

Re: headlights

Thank you on the compliment :) I think their just called base side skirts and rear skirt they came with all base model Preludes. I got them off ebay, just search decals or the name of the decal like built not bought and you will find them all over the place, cheap too.
