Turbo build, could use some wise words

I have an 2000 SH H22a4 with 90k miles original and its OBD2 I belive doing a complete rebuild on engine. Skunk 2 Cams/Gears, valves/retainers and send block to be resleeved still unsure on what sleeves/pistons/rod combo to get and what size to bore too. OH and I need a new Crankshaft can't seem to see if I need to upgrade that to or switch for this build. I'm still new to this all been doing a lot of research. Am I headed in the right direction on the build? Money not an issue but I want my H22a4 usdm and nothing else lol. Please some wise luder give me some insight

Re: Turbo build, could use some wise words

yeah i can tell you have the basic insight on what you want to do, i mean the rest is honestly entirely up to you. bensen, golden eagle, darton, and several more. are big names for sleeves and can all handel some abuse. as far as pistons and rods id look into other ppls builds and see what most ppl run bc they're many options as far as this criteria is concerned. as far as the crank goes after 30 seconds of google search i managed to see a solid number of the factory h22 crank can handel 900+ whp. first make a baseline of power you'd like to see and plan your build from there man, best of luck and welcome to the site!

Re: Turbo build, could use some wise words

^read that

Do you have emission test? Cause you are gonna need to switch from an obd2 to an obd1 ecu to be able to tune it correctly.. You will loose ATTS doing so

Re: Turbo build, could use some wise words

you should be able to hit 350 easily with the stock displacement. just build the top end the fuel system and sleves/pistons and run like 12psi and you should get 350. but if you get oversized pistons to bump up the displacment you can get alot more and way more torque also.

What other tranny will bolt up to the 5th gen h22a4 will the 4th gen h22a4 tranny fit? Still doing research on that, on what type of tranny to use.

Re: Turbo build, could use some wise words

search the transmission thing man, its quite simple so you should be abl to find it bc ppl ask that same question about 5 times per week lol, on the other hand have you figured out a power goal?

Well man if you are going for 400 you'll be upgrading internals Anyway and probably needing to sleeve the block so that is. Possibility if you can find them separate.

Re: Turbo build, could use some wise words

i would get a base tranny for sure dealling with the atts systems sucks balls, oh and if you do get a bigger intake manifold forget about oil changes cause you wont be able to reach for the oil filter from bottom or top so ya i do like my skunk 2 intake manifold though or you could get a oil filter extension kit thing. up to you i hate the atts system just dead wieght in my car.
