Re: fully built h22 with high boost

Double? howabout 15k+ for the motor build and then add in for tires/brakes/suspension/mounts to keep the power to the wheels and then tune.

You'll want to research some boost builds such as Rogers (md23vtec) or Tommy's (i forget his sn - from JTC customs) they're both 9 second boosted Preludes with plenty of power

Re: fully built h22 with high boost

Set your sights a little lower and 5k would be ok. Theres no way you need 600+ hp. 300-400 would be plenty fine!

Well, Don't you? by the way,

Gooby pls.

a racing build will take 15k in a blink of the eye.

building a serious DD is more like 7500, and you treat your car FABULOUS!

Figures is what's going to ad up if you choose to go turbo the right way. Just your block sleeved will run you $2500.00-3500.00 depending on who does it. You're looking at another $1200.00-1400.00 to port and polish your head and put new valves, springs and retainers. In just that your already to $4-5 grand. You haven't even started buying turbo goodies yet..

That's how I figure

15k relativity cheap compared to buying parts for a R35..30k + for built transmission alone

Re: fully built h22 with high boost

Like everyone here has said with a turbo your going to upgrade the internals and sleeve it. Crankshaft would run you $1000+, Turbo kit to provide that much Hp will run you $3000+, Pistons and rods will run $800+, Sleeves will run you $400+, Camshafts will run you $400+, Performance intake/exhaust valves will run you $300+, Valve springs and retainers $250+, Rod bearings $60+, the list goes on and on....
For good brand parts i would look at Darton, Skunk 2, Blox, Eagle Rods, Wiseco, Turbonetics, AEM, HKS, Brian Crower. Im sure their are more but i forget

I thought that's what I wanted at one time based off of what I had before, seemed kind of random though but now after actually driving my car with the J in it I have changed my mind and I am looking at mid 400's. Can't hardly get the HP I have down to the ground now, 600 is going to be nutty.

Exactly where I was going with that

Unless this is a 100% drag car, there's no need for more than ~450whp on the street. You'll just spin everywhere.

If you want to talk to someone that spent money on there car talk to Sean simons. He had a 700+ hp prelude. He was on Honda tuning magazine. He's cars a straight beast. Super cool guy. He'll give you tips and stuff to reach your goal. For real though that's gonna be a boat load of money just saying. Good luck though man. Keep us posted.

Use the search piston. It can probably handle around 600whp

Re: fully built h22 with high boost

Do all your research first. I also think you should set more attainable goals at first. 600 is a lot on the H22 block, and way too much for a daily. Unless you're wanting just an absolute drag monster and you have another daily(not to mention some serious extra cash, I would set your goals on something at least a little more attainable. 600 horsepower sounds like something that would require upgrading almost every component of the engine, not to mention deleting all creature comforts and such. Good luck with it tho. If you get it, it'll be something of legend.
