Re: Auto to manual swap advice?

There are plenty of threads in regards to doing the 5spd swap. To sum up what you need:

5spd transmission
clutch slave cylinder
clutch master cylinder
clutch reservoir + bracket
manual transmission starter
shifter cables
shifter assembly
clutch pedal w/ brackets
brake pedal - i think? double check
manual transmission bracket and motor mount
cannot remember if you need to swap an axle or not... might be thinking sh to base
5spd cluster unless you plan to keep the auto cluster
clutch
flywheel
a few friends, tools, and a weekend of spare time

I THINK* the overall cost is around 2k if you shop around for parts. You can get used from local craigs list ads, prelude forum for sale threads or new from places like majestic or your local honda dealer

Selling the auto trans - you could, chances of it selling? yeaaaaah doubtful

No negative effects to the car - you'll have that slight bump in power that the auto trans takes away from the car, won't be stuck on the side of the road due to the auto trans failing, and won't be stuck driving around with a bitch stick - it'll be a real car now.

This is your first/last free-be from me. Do your research.

There are a few threads i know of on preludepower, not sure if they're on here or not so i'll just link them when i get around to finding them.

Re: Auto to manual swap advice?

Only thing I would add to this^^^is that you dont need the motor mount actually. The auto one will work. But aside from that, he's spot on with everything.

I might be wrong but to do it right don't you need Manual CV Axles/Shafts? YES they are different i know because at my work their different part numbers yet still the same price.

Nobody said they weren't different - just that I couldn't remember

But thanks for confirming that.
