Re: what brake discs are best for road use on a mk5

In other countries, MK5 would be classified as a 5th generation car (ie: 5th gen Prelude).

I would just go with Brembo blanks paired with EBC Green Stuff or Hawk SP pads. Have heard nothing but good things about them.

Not sure how MK5 is considered a 5th gen in other countries when the codes for all 5th gens are;

bb5
bb6
bb7
bb8
bb9

ok so i didnt know there was a lack of common knowledge on this site lol. mk5 is 5th gen, bb8 is the chasis code for bb8. in other words, in the USA we dont get the badass cars like he has lol. a buddy of mine is an scca veteran and he said use standard rotors and i think hawk pads. there are other fluids that will help against brake fade too. i would have to get that from him though because all i remember is its gold color or blue lol. oh and devidleswell, i want ur car bad lol

Honda Prelude MK5

Look at some of the domains that come up: .co.uk, .au, .ro, etc. International versions.

huh... learn something new every day.

But I must say, not so much common knowledge when we are here in the states and the information is from another country. We only have a small handful of members from outside the country.... typically they all sign up to PUK or PAUS or whatever forum is closest

Yeah, there's a lot we didn't get here car wise. That's the only part that IS common knowledge

Re: what brake discs are best for road use on a mk5

We have 4 wheel steering here in the states.

Sorry to hear about your knee surgery. Bummer man.... hope for a speedy recovery!

Where are you from?

As for the topic at hand;

Power slott (or centric) rotors are good rotor choices. They're both made by the same company

You don't need slotted or dimpled rotors, plain ones work just fine.

Hawk break pads are a great combination with those rotors.

I use power slott rotors in the front, centric in the rear and hawk hps pads all around. Although the hawk hps pads create a good bit of dust - it's tolerable to me.

Last I heard, Brembo Blanks were no longer made for our cars. Can anyone confirm that?
