Need Advice! 5th Gen H22A4 to H22A Swap

Hey Guys

I am about to start swapping my H22A4 to an H22A I just picked in my 5th gen(base model). I have done my research but any advice or tips anyone could give me would be greatly appreciated!

Swap your oil pump, oil pickup tube, oil pan, and CYP sensors from your H22A4. Replace the timing belt, balance belt, and auto tensioner with new OEM parts.

you dont have to swap the oil pick up tube or the oil pan just the oil pump and cyp sensors(do the tbelt job, possibly manual tensioner conversion if you want to at the same time.) Possibly replace heater hoses and fuel filter while you have the motor out(much easier at this time.)

Although not necessary, if you want to use the aluminum oil pan from the H22A4 you have to do the pickup tube also.

both my jdm and usdm motors had the aluminum oil pan on them, so not sure why you would use the one from the h22a4 vs the one from the h22a? let me know why.

You're the first guy I know that has bought a JDM motor with an aluminum pan. They're usually a stamped steel one with a rubber gasket like the H22A1, which is why I even brought it up in the first place.

Re: Need Advice! 5th Gen H22A4 to H22A Swap

technically u dont have to swap the oil pump... a friend of mine is a tech at honda and he's wired two 4th gen dizzys to work in a 5th gen. so for my h22a4 to h22a swap it was literally putting in the motor lol. got pics if u want them
