Re: Oil Leak

We're supposed to be able to magically guess where its leaking from?!?!

Can we get a LITTLE more info? At least front/left/right/back of the block?

Re: Oil Leak

Is it starting from the top and leaking down, such as from the cam seal (just behind and to the left of the VTEC solenoid [if you're looking at it from the passenger side])? This is a common problem with the OEM cam seals. A picture would help us out a lot too.

Re: Oil Leak

Well fluids can only drip from top to bottom, sooo.... where's the highest point that you see evidence of oil dripping?

Re: Oil Leak

Well it seems to be fresh, but it's difficult to give you an exact point of leakage from the pictures. Do what twokexlv6coupe said and follow it to it's highest point, and report back. Does you car run fine, ie., no hesitation, bogging, CELS, or anything? Can you tell how much oil you are losing (by using the dipstick)? Are you mixing coolant and oil? More info would be great for us to help you out.

Re: Oil Leak

I had a few "leak" issues also, but now they are all gone, 2000 Prelude Base 2.2. I replaced the cam seals, vtec solenoid, valve cover etc. My issues were not completely resolved until 1. I dropped the tranny and found that oil had built up in the dowels where it mounts to the engine block and 2. the oil filter housing o-ring was leaking. Since replacing that o-ring and cleaning the transmission while it was out all my leaks are gone.

Re: Oil Leak

Could it be rear main seal leak?
