Im not doing any visual stuff, just looking for good cold air intakes and exhaust, And whatever else I can get my hands on, but nothing too expensive.

Re: reccomend good mods for 5th gen?

If you don't have money for an intake you can take the resonator out. it's inside the fender well. there's a valve in there that opens at higher engine rpm's and mine was corroded shut so my engine wasn't breathing right. It's cheap (Free), easy, and when you get a real intake you already did most the work if you decide to go with a CAI.

delete the resonator then get a k&n filter for the stock intake. then you're good to go

I like my greddy Evo 2 exhaust. You should get headers to. You know just start with basic bolt ons.

Cat back exhaust is always a plus :) If you going for performance then headers, cat and exhaust. But it can get pricey. You can get a short ram intake for 150 bucks off ebay AEM or a CAI for around 200.

Basic bolt ons with a tune can add up to 20hp, Hytech replica header, highflow cat, custom 3" exhaust. But it's pricey.

Re: reccomend good mods for 5th gen?

If you can get you hand on a PSPEC short shifter I'd highly reccomend getting that. I think it's one of the best mods I bought for my car. Isn't that a lot for bolt ons??? You did mention bolt ons more on the expensive side though and a tune.

hytech replica tri-y header, exhaust & AEM CAI install - Honda Prelude Forum - Prelude Online.com

Clearly shows the official poster gained 18 hp custom exhaust, hytech replica header, intake and high flow cat. I know there's many more people out there with this results.

Re: reccomend good mods for 5th gen?

Get a type S intake with a drop in K&N filter. Hytech rep header, 3 inch exhaust and your good to go. From there and on any hp(perfomance gain) will run you quite a few hundreds more...

I dont really trust in those numbers.

I didnt felt much anything when I changed my old header to better one... so whats the point of doing that if you need dyno to tell you that your car is faster?

header 6-9hp
catback ~4
cat which works ~ nothing
cai ~ nothing - 1

and if you dont do those dyno pulls at the same day/same time weather makes it unaccurate

If you don't trust them oh well lol. It's proven by many people the Hytech Replica header puts 13hp-15hp. And what header did you put on? DC, Megan, Greddy, all don't give you hp increase maybe a very tiny bit if any.

you really have to do those dyno pulls at the same time, max couple of hours from each others or the weather changes the numbers

Ive seen my car loosing 20hp - warm (and more humid) day vs colder

Re: reccomend good mods for 5th gen?

You put DC header on? Or Vibrant header? DC is just a stock replacement, nothing different but it looking better. No HP increase at all with dc headers. Vibrant, I've heard good things hp increase similar to the hytech replica but for the price difference Hytech seems better.

when I changed my stock header to dc, I actually felt that the car worked little bit smoother at low rpms

it was last winter when I changed dc to vibrant, ok, there was no grip of course at winter time, but I didnt noticed it being that much faster/better

Can you please just stop talking? How is a 3"exhaust not needed? If your looking for power then yes, a 3" exhaust is recommended. I can put up a dyno chart comparing a 2.5" to a 3" but then whenever I do, you'll say you dont believe it like you did a few posts ago.

And theres these things called resonators. They can quiet down your exhaust alot. Idiot
