Update on my car

Hi everyone.
I just wanted to share what I have been up to over the last couple of weeks.
As you know, I just joined recently and have many plans for the 97 Prelude I purchased 2 months ago. To date I have cleaned it big time, dressed my engine a bit with an intake and red valve cover.
Last week I picked up some MSR style 45 17" wheels wrapped with Hercules Raptis 205/45/17 tires, not the most expensive but I am on a budget.
Yesterday I spent my day installing my new Megan springs and achieved a nice drop, according to Megan it's 1.75 inches. They definitely helped and feel really nice on the road.

I have been working to change the stock beige/black interior and am attaching pictures of my progress so far. What you see below is very careful masking and painting with Duplicolor Vinyl/fabric spray. I tore down the dash today, not fun but I like the results.
Also dyed the black seats black. Short term plans are to get a black carpet, some nice black racing seats with red trim, black leather rear seats and orig SIR red door panels and center console.

Hope you like what I have done so far, if you don't, please be nice to the bunny LOL

I was going to go with VHT dye at first but it was hard to come by in my timeline so I went with Duplicolor Fabric / Vinyl paint.

Thanks, I agree, hopefully I can save up the cash I need for my color change BEFORE Xmas LOL. Long term plans are sideskirts, rear and front lip followed by a pearl black paint job. Then no more tree LOL

As I said before, it will be legit eventually, just HATED the beige and wanted it gone.

Re: Update on my car

Looks great, but before I'd make it look any sexier, either A learn to drive a 5 speed, or swap it. Making it pretty isn't much if it won't go...

Again, not hating, looks very clean. but swap it!

Are you insinuating that because I am a woman, I cannot drive a stick?
This is the first car I ever purchased that is not a stick.

Unless you are going to front the cost of my conversion, please keep it to yourself. Not everyone has the same plans and timeline. Not everyone wants to race. Some of us want a nice looking car. Geez

Thanks, by the way I actually ended up going to Honda EL Cerrito the day you went. Would have been cool to check out each other's cars although mine looked pretty bad still that day LOL

Re: Update on my car

I had no idea you were a woman, thank you for the concern though.

I'm saying it's rather silly to have a 200 hp automatic 4 banger that would crush any other 4 banger if it was a 5 speed. I'm not saying street race, it's just kind of pointless to buy an automatic, especially since you said this was your first non 5 speed. Why go from great to lazy?

I also said I meant to no offense, I'll keep my common opinion to myself from now on.
Enjoy your riced out slap shift.

You want a nice looking car for.... self gratitude I assume? If you want it to look nice, why not have it drive nice aswell? That's all im getting at.

Re: Update on my car

Austin,

First of all, I am sorry for bitching at you. No, not that time of the month but sitting at home with a flu after spending my weekend on the car, now sick all of a sudden.

Looking back, I had a chance to get a stick but really wanted a car that had not already been messed with, the only one was this one. Don't get me wrong, the auto is nice when in bumper to bumper traffic but I miss my stick.

I wish I had taken pictures of the car when I first picked it up so all of you could understand how bad it was. Mold and smells, dry food stains and crap under the seats, bumper spray painted with lime green Krylon. Smelled like ****, looked like **** but ran great. First thing was to change the worn out rattling control arms then I went into hyper (get the thing to look and smell nice) mode. I could easily have spent the money on a tranny swap but I have a child, I was not about to put him in the car the way it was. For me as a single mom, first is safety and hygiene. Next is everything else. I have a shop close by looking into force feeding my lude soon so a 5 spd is in the plans. Just was not my first priority.

I hope we are cool, YES?
