clear turn signals

well today I took it upon myself to remove the amber lense from my front turn signals. my rear ones have been like this for quite some time now and I haven't recieved any grief from the popo. I'm pretty sure clear signals are illegal and was just curious what you guys experience has been as far as getting pulled over for it. Sorry if this is kinda a usless thread I'm bored at work and have been pondering this

Re: clear turn signals

I cleared my rear lights and just put in an amber bulb. obviously no problems but most people say it defeats the purpose of clearing them but it looks alot better than the big chunk of orange in the tail lights. my sister has clear turn signals on her Integra among other things and she doesn't get any heat.

Re: clear turn signals

Your never gonna have a problem with the cops, newer cars now a days come with taillights all red and just a clear for reverse. no orange, some do some dont. If your lights were smoked out, thats a dif story.

Re: clear turn signals

Here in Texas front turn signals can be clear/white, I have clear turn signals with bright white LED's. But the rear must be amber/red. My tailights came without amber so I have bright white LED's in them which is illegal lol but so far no cops.

Re: clear turn signals

If a cops feels the need to pull you over just for that then i'd stay out of the area you got pulled over at because while he's messing with you for stupid turn signals someone is robbing a house or store.

Re: clear turn signals

From what I've read, anything that's been altered from the the factory that may be considered an important part for safety (turn signals, headlights, seat belts, steering wheel, etc.) can be grounds to pull you over.

Typically though, as long as your lights have the proper color bulbs in them it's usually not a problem. Clear and amber in the front. Clear, amber and red in the back. Any other colors are illegal and will get you pulled over eventually (especially if you have any red and blue lights in the front as those are reserved for emergency vehicles.)

Re: clear turn signals

Yeah any blue lights Will get you pulled over no matter where you are. I wanted to put blue turn signals but just went with white less hassle.
