H23 Vtec "frank" update.

Hey PZ, Just wanted to update on what I've gotten done on my project. Got the motor completely together finally. It's been a year or so since i ripped my old motor out. Been a long process with having limited funds and the process of finally getting my license back. CT's laws suck. Anyway, for those that don't know. I bought an H23 short block that has been built by a local machine shop. Balanced crank and what not. I took my old H22 head that has ferrea oversized valvetrain, crower ti retainers, polished ports. Stuck that on there and boom. I'm in the process of installing now. Can't wait! Tell me what u think. Thanks pz for all the help and probably future help. I'll keep updating.

Re: H23 Vtec "frank" update.

Thanks guys. The clutch is an exedy stage one. It only has a couple thousand miles on it, so pretty much stock. I had a five angle valve job done. So with the amount of material that was taken out required 1mm over stock sized valves. The water pump came off my H22. For an H23 vtec anything that touches the timing belt needs to be h22. The block is stock bore and stroke. I didnt have it built and i dont have the money for stuff in there to be changed. As far as i know it just has a balanced and polished crank and chromoly sleeves pressed in. I think the kid cheaped out by having h23 pistons put in. Which has me a little concerned for compression. Although it'll prob run on 89 octane lol. I only paid 600 for the short block and a large box of parts. My other concern is what route i need to go with tuning. My head spins reading about it. Do i do hondata, chrome, or neptune??????? I guess i'll just let a shop do what they do. Or try and wrap my head around it.
