Cylinder Position Sensor??

the cel came on in my 01 lude and it came up a p1382 code for a cylinder postion sensor. i've never heard of these, does anyone know if its the same as the crank postion sensor? if not, where is the cylinder sensor located? the light came on, and now the car is missing and stuttering, and wont go past 3k rpm. it has also been smoking and burning some oil which could be caused by bad sensors, so are the crank and cylinder position sensors the same thing?

Re: Cylinder Position Sensor??

It put it's self into Limp mode. Don't try to go above 3k or drvie it if you can help it. I got a code for crankshaft position sensor and my car sputters and dies once it's warm. There is a sensor malfunction so it's putting it's self into Limp mode to prevent damage to the engine.

Re: Cylinder Position Sensor??

I've never heard of it but i got a code fof Position, Angle, and Cam shaft position sensor. i broke down and quit throwing parts at it and took it to a shop. I need a new cap, rotor, and distributor. I hope that works...i'll be able to tell you on friday when i pick it up from the shop. haha

Re: Cylinder Position Sensor??

I had this code pop up not long ago and my car would misfire a lot also there was a huge lack in power. I replaced the distributor with all the sensors and now it runs smoothly but my atts light has remained on ever since.
